Uppsala University builds on the conviction that commitment to education and research contributes to a better future. The University aspires to bring all its breadth and strength to bear to support sustainable development, engage with the wider community, and promote openness and respect.

Uppsala University was founded in 1477 and has a long history and rich traditions. Now ranked among the top academic institutions in the world, the University continually strives to conduct education and research of the highest quality and relevance to make a long-term difference in society.

Uppsala University’s more than 45,000 students help to replenish and enhance the knowledge base in society by acquiring knowledge, skills and approaches that will qualify them to participate in and lead future development and renewal. The nine faculties offer more than 140 Bachelor’s and Master’s programs and nearly 2,000 freestanding courses in an integrated education and research environment.

The nine faculties are divided into three broad disciplinary domains: humanities and social sciences, medicine and pharmacy, and science and technology. Uppsala University’s nearly 5,000 researchers advance the frontiers of knowledge and develop methods to better understand fundamental natural, human and social phenomena. With strong basic research supplemented by initiatives to promote interdisciplinary challenge-driven research, Uppsala University stands well-equipped to contribute to sustainable solutions to the challenges facing society.

ROLE IN TELEGRAM

UU leads WP2, for the development of new catalysts for the NH3 electrochemical synthesis and the Direct Ammonia Fuel Cell approach. Catalysts incorporate high entropy thin films, and investigate the role of dopants on the performance. UU also performs in-operando Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) and Raman spectroscopy as well as atomic scale (DFT) modelling, to aid the catalysts development and the device implementation and to gain fundamental understanding on the surface processes during the reactions.
